Book Review #7 - First Frost

First Frost by Sarah Addison Allen

Of course the ONLY Sarah Addison Allen book that I haven't read is Garden Spells. I have it, I just haven't read it yet... I started reading First Frost and had a little trouble connecting with the characters, only to realize that this was the second in the series to Garden Spells!

However, after I kept reading, it doesn't really matter if you have or haven't read the first story of the Waverly family... First Frost will still draw you in with their magic and love that Allen is know for weaving into her stories.

Though First Frost tells multiple story lines, including sisters Claire and Sydney, the mysterious old man that appears in town, and of the young Bay and her potential love story. I think my favorite parts varied between Claire and Bay. Claire seemed to be struggling between what she felt she should do with the candy business and what she wanted to do. While Bay was just on her own, knowing what belongs where or who belongs with who... including herself.

If you enjoy a bit of magic mixed in with real life, if you believe nothing is truly impossible... you should probably read Sarah Addison Allen.
